Is it Time to Hire a Consultant?
Many people balk at the idea of hiring a Consultant. Why pay someone to come in and do a job that I should be able to do? The reason you should hire a Consultant to help your organization, is because that individual has experience of finding and maintaining that balance.
I got a call the other day regarding this same thing, as the gentlemen I spoke with wants to have a neutral person to give them guidance who has lots of relevant experience; and they felt I may be the right person for the job, so they would like to explore this further with me and my business.
Hiring a Consultant to help your organization fundraise, strategize, or streamline, will help you maximize your efforts. Consultants are masters at placing people in their most optimum positions and maximizing the efforts of a group. They will be able to tell you how to work and take care of some of these tasks in a smooth and efficient manner instead of spreading yourself too thin to get jobs done that you were never hired to do in the first place.
When you are more efficient, you are more effective. When you are more effective, you have a greater impact. If your organization can be more efficient, call a Consultant and watch your team transform in front of your eyes.
One of my most prized testimonials since starting my own Consultant’s business 10 years ago is from Kathy Fyfe, Past Executive Director for the Epilepsy Association of Calgary whom I helped with various fundraising projects for about 4 years; until such time as I helped them build the sustainability they required to hire a full-time person.
“We were literally drowning as a result of the impact of the 2013 floods in Calgary and needed to reconnect with existing donors as well as reach out to new ones. With Mitch’s skill and expertise, not only did Mitch help increase our annual donations, he helped secure a number of three year commitments and foundation grants. EAC was in need of a life raft, which Mitch ably provided and we’re looking forward to a continued working relationship. Thank you, Mitch!”
If you would like to speak with Kathy or any of my other references to determine if I’m the right Consultant for your organization, and/or for you to learn more about how my ability, experience, and skills may be able to help benefit your organization, or an organization you may be associated with; please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me, as I would be pleased to pass on my references and their contact information to you and/or meet and discuss the opportunity of working together and provide you with any additional information you may require.
