We invite your organization to participate as a special and valued sponsor of the Environmental Law Centre (ELC)’s Green Regs & Ham 2015 breakfast event in Calgary, Alberta this October 6th, 2015.

For this year’s Green Regs & Ham event in Calgary, ELC is excited to host a timely and very important discussion on what Canada and Alberta need to do to show their strong commitments to greenhouse gas reductions in view of the upcoming Paris Climate Change Conference in December 2015. The Paris climate conference has been touted as the “world’s last best chance to reach an agreement on cutting carbon emissions”.

In this regard, ELC is pleased to have as its guest speaker Ms. Julie Gelfand, Canada’s Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development in the office of the federal Auditor General. Ms. Gelfand will be presenting her annual report via live video-conference from Ottawa, which will provide a unique opportunity for candid conversations with Albertans on key issues relating to Canada’s efforts to protect the environment and foster sustainable development. Her report will include her review of the effectiveness of Canada’s efforts towards greenhouse gas emissions reductions and its environmental monitoring of oil sands development in Alberta.

In addition, there will be an opportunity to dialogue with other distinguished panelists who will share their recommendations on what Canada and Alberta can do to thrive in a carbon-constrained global economy, especially in light of the upcoming Paris Climate Change Conference.

Key stakeholders have been invited from the energy, environmental, legal, regulatory and private industry sectors to come together as well as local and provincial policy-makers and leaders. We are bringing together diverse voices in a single venue to discuss green regulations over a hearty breakfast of eggs and ham.

Venue and Date:

• Calgary, Alberta – Tuesday, October 6th, 2015
University of Calgary, Downtown Campus
8 Avenue SW, Calgary, AB T2P1H9
